About Nicholas

You’ve worked hard to build your nest egg—now it’s time to make it work for you.

But navigating the transition from saving to living off your savings comes with a new set of challenges: shifting priorities, evolving tax rules, market uncertainty, and important decisions that shape the rest of your retirement.

I understand just how much is on the line. Growing up, I watched my grandparents take two very different financial paths. One set was able to enjoy their later years with financial freedom. The other faced stress and hardship. That early contrast shaped my desire to help others make confident, informed decisions about their money—especially in retirement.

Before founding Morrison Wealth Advisors, I spent 14 years at Fidelity Investments helping more than 1,000 families retire with clarity and confidence. When I left, I was the lead advisor on roughly $1.4 billion in assets. While I’m grateful for the experience and training I gained there, I knew I wanted to offer something more personal.
That’s why I created Morrison Wealth Advisors—so I could serve retirement savers age 50+ with the focused, in-depth guidance this stage of life deserves. No cookie-cutter plans. No guessing. Just clarity, strategy, and a steady hand to help you move forward.

I live in Raleigh with my wife, our two boys, and a baby girl on the way. Outside the office, you’ll usually find me golfing, traveling, cheering on my kids at their games, or pulling for the Carolina Hurricanes.

Adviser Q&A

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Getting to meet interesting people and hear their stories. It is very rewarding to make such a positive impact on people’s lives. Knowing they can worry less about the details and more time enjoying their retirement.

Early Mornings. Things can get a bit hectic with two kids, preparing for a third and building a business. That quiet time before the day starts with a cup of coffee or two helps my day get off on the right foot.
Really hard to say, as we love to travel and experience things outside our daily circle. We’ve been blessed to see some really cool places, we typically go back and forth between going to the beach to relax, or going somewhere like Florence, Italy to explore. In light of wanting to do something a little different, I think it is a tie between Alaska or an African Safari.

FUN FACT!

I am a bit ambidextrous. I throw and golf left handed. I shoot a basketball, use scissors and bowl with my right hand.
